Week of September 6-10

Hello Trailblazer Families, 

We hope you have a wonderful three day weekend with your family and stay safe and well! Our students and staff had an amazing time at our All-School Village Rally this week which was hosted outside. Students came wearing their Village colors and T-shirts and it was truly magical to have students back together. Our 4th & 5th grade buddies did an amazing job of escorting our TK/Kinder and 1st grade buddies to and from the rally. We love the leadership and strong connections that our students make through our Villages. As a school, we will kick of Habit #1: I am in Charge of Me in two weeks at our September 15th Rally.

One of our student leadership groups help us organize and deliver our Diamond Creek News to students each week. Check out the latest version HERE!

Volunteer Information:
Please be sure to bring your driver's license or CA ID when you sign in to volunteer or have lunch with your student. As part of the district safety protocols, we will not be able to sign you in without it.  You only need to bring it to scan on your first visit, it will store in the system after that. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Diamond Creek Village Rally

Looking for an Amazing Kindergarten Volunteer:
We have a classroom that would love an extra parent volunteer to help with ELA stations and classroom activities. If you are interested in learning more, please email Mrs. Garcia.

Walk-a-Thon: JOIN THE WALK-A-THON TEAM!

Our 2 amazing co-chairs of DC’s Walk-a-Thon are looking to bring on a volunteer or 2 who would like to shadow our co-chairs to learn the ropes, with the idea of taking over as chair next year! 

The Walk-a-Thon chairperson position comes with a well-organized binder filled with everything you need to take over next year. However, you’ll get on-the-job training now, leading up to the big event on 9/17.

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
