Week of June 12-16

What's Coming Up This Week? June 12-13 We had a great field day today! The weather was perfect, not rainy and not too hot.  The students were laughing, racing and having a great time playing at each station. Thank you to all of our parents who made this day happen for our students. We appreciate all of the volunteers that helped organize and put this event together. THANK YOU! This week is a short week as we end the 2016-17 school year.  A reminder that both Monday and Tuesday are minimum days and students will be dismissed at 2:05. I also wanted to take this time to thank you for all of your support this school year.  I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to lead this school and community.  The students, staff, and families are so caring and welcoming here at Diamond Creek.  Thank you for welcoming me into your community!  Have a wonderful summer! I also wanted to let you know that next year when you receive mail from me I will be "Angela Garcia".   My husba

Week of June 5-9

What's Coming Up This Week? June 5-9 This week some of our 4th and 5th grade students performed some amazing acts in our 2016-17 DC Talent Show! I was completely amazed by some of the dancing, singing, and comedy acts that came on stage.  Hats Off to all of our brave students for showing so much courage to perform their talents for their peers.  Thank you to Mr. Carlos for planning the entire show for our students! Our 5th graders had an exciting week with their trip to Berkeley where they visited the Lawrence Hall of Science.  Students came back excited and sharing all about the brains they saw! Students in grades 2-5 will continue iReady testing this week which is a diagnostic we use four times throughout the year to measure student progress. We use this data in our PLCs to plan intervention. The spring data will help us measure progress and also give us some valuable information as we head into the Fall. Our staff will continue the "Staff Dress Code" this week b
