Hello Trailblazer Families, 

We are gearing up for a big week at Diamond Creek with our DC Spirit Week leading up to our 16th Annual Walk-a-Thon! Walk-a-Thon envelopes went home this week and are due back Friday, September 24th. Please read the details below regarding our Walk-a-Thon and our Spirit Week!

We also have our next Village Rally on Wednesday, September 15th. We will be kicking off Habit #1: I am in Charge of Me and discussing some essential behaviors that go along with this Habit.

Walk-a-Thon - THIS FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 17th!! 
We are so excited to host our 16th annual Walk-a-Thon at Diamond Creek after a year away from this amazing opportunity and fundraiser for our students.  Envelopes were sent home this week and are due back September 24th.  Please read through the information sent home this week with the Walk-a-Thon envelopes!  Prizes are involved as well!
  • Collect $75 or more in pledges = Jamba Juice Smoothie Party! 
  • Top 3 earners schoolwide = gift card of their choice! 
  •  Top student in each class = special Walk-A-Thon spiritwear t-shirt! 
  •  Top earning classroom = Class Party of your choosing (pizza party or root beer float party) PLUS…the teacher will be awarded funds to spend in his or her classroom!

2nd Grade Students Making Landforms

Volunteer Information:
Please be sure to bring your driver's license or CA ID when you sign in to volunteer or have lunch with your student. As part of the district safety protocols, we will not be able to sign you in without it.  You only need to bring it to scan on your first visit, it will store in the system after that. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Walk-a-Thon: JOIN THE WALK-A-THON TEAM!

Our 2 amazing co-chairs of DC’s Walk-a-Thon are looking to bring on a volunteer or 2 who would like to shadow our co-chairs to learn the ropes, with the idea of taking over as chair next year! 

The Walk-a-Thon chairperson position comes with a well-organized binder filled with everything you need to take over next year. However, you’ll get on-the-job training now, leading up to the big event on 9/17.

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
