Week of September 20-24

Hello Trailblazer Families, 

We had an amazing week at Diamond Creek filled with learning and fun with our Diamond Creek spirit days! Our Walk-a-Thon was a huge success for our students. We are excited we were able to make this event happen for our students and staff while following all of our COVID-19 safety procedures. We appreciate all of your support through our Walk-a-Thon. Students can still collect Walk-a-Thon donations as envelopes are not due until September 24th! All of our Walk-a-Thon dollars go back into our classrooms to positively impact our students and their learning experience at Diamond Creek. THANK YOU for all of your support and a huge THANK YOU to our Diamond Creek Walk-a-Thon team!

Here are the prizes students can receive for Walk-a-Thon!
  • Collect $75 or more in pledges = Jamba Juice Smoothie Party! 
  • Top 3 earners schoolwide = gift card of their choice! 
  • Top student in each class = special Walk-A-Thon spiritwear t-shirt! 
  • Top earning classroom = Class Party of your choosing (pizza party or root beer float party) PLUS…the teacher will be awarded funds to spend in his or her classroom!

We kicked off Habit #1: I am in Charge of Me at our Rally this week.  The specific essential skills our students are working on with this habit are:

1. Be Responsible for Your Trash
2. Move Around Respectfully and Safely
3. Try To Solve Your Own Problems
4. Always Be Honest

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
