WEEKLY NEWS It was another great week at Diamond Creek! We have students in all grade levels creating writing journals and taking off with their writing.  It's exciting to walk through classrooms and observe our students writing about their interests and passions! We had our 2nd September Village Meeting on Wednesday.  Our focus continued to be on "Eyeballs & Handshakes" Our students are working on greeting and speaking with students and staff using eye contact.  We also practiced our Diamond Creek chant and our Village chants.  Our students will definitely be ready to share their chants at our Village Rally on October 3rd.  Our 4th and 5th grade students have been amazing leaders and big buddies to our Kindergarten and 1st grade students. This year at Diamond Creek instead of having a Student Council with elected members, we have formed a variety of leadership teams across the school. We have equipment leaders, lunch helpers, social media interns, Student News

WEEKLY NEWS We had another great week of learning at Diamond Creek! Make sure to ask your students what they are learning in our classrooms.  It's fun to walk through classrooms and observe the progression of learning from our TK students all the way up to our 5th grade students.  We have readers and writers hard at work! During our Village meeting this week we focused on speaking to others using eye contact and using full sentences when we are sharing and responding.  I have had so many of our students coming up to me and greeting me with a handshake and a "Good Morning Mrs. Garcia".   These essential skills are already becoming apparent in our daily life at Diamond Creek. If you have not yet checked out our Sorting Day Village Video which shows highlights from our Sorting Day, the link is below. Coming up this week is our WALK-A-THON!! Our students will enjoy walking together on Thursday morning.  Our Walk-a-Thon is our largest fundraiser for our students.  Mone
