Week of May 28-June 1
Updates from our week at Diamond Creek
It was another busy week of learning at Diamond Creek. Our 5th Grade students had the opportunity to dissect sheep hearts on Thursday. This is always an amazing learning experience for our 5th grade students and even encourages some of them with future professions! We are thankful for amazing doctors and parent volunteers who help make this learning experience so meaningful for our students.
On Friday, our 2nd grade students worked very hard to welcome our Grandparents to Diamond Creek and help them feel extra special! I have to bring kleenex with me as I'm walking through the 2nd grade classrooms listening to all of our Grandparents share special memories and thoughts of their grandchildren. Thank you to our 2nd grade teachers for all of their hard work helping this day be extra special for everyone!
We also had two of our 1st grade classrooms perform their Spring Sing performance for families on Thursday and our other two classes are coming up this week.
Our Choir performed another OUTSTANDING concert as well on Tuesday evening. It's amazing to hear their incredible vocal talents.
Diamond Creek Arcade
On Wednesday, we had our first ever student created Diamond Creek Arcade during lunches. Students who have been working with Mrs. Garcia during RtI time have been hard at work building arcade games from recycled materials. The students were able to host and open their arcade games this week for students to come play. Their creativity was amazing to see on display!

Back to School Night - Wednesday, August 8th, 2018
SAVE THE DATE - Our Back to School Night for the 2018-19 school year will be held before school starts this year on Wednesday, August 8th. We will have more details and times coming soon. All students K-5 will have the opportunity to visit their classroom and meet their teacher. Different this year, class lists will not be posted on the front office windows. Families will be receiving this information before Back to School Night in an email. Teachers will also send Nuts & Bolts and other helpful information to you beforehand so that Back to School Night is more centered around meeting the teacher and beginning to build that relationship. We are excited for this new format and hope that you find it helpful.
Summer Dress Code
As our days are getting warmer, this is just a friendly reminder to please check your child's clothing before heading off to school. We ask that shorts are not too short and that students are not wearing spaghetti strap shirts. We want to make sure all students are dressed for minimal distractions. Thank you for your help!
Lost & Found
We have many items in our Lost & Found. We do have students look through these items during lunch each day and even put them on display on the stage during lunch. Please take a look after school to see if any of the items belong to your child. Thank you! We will be donating all items after June 7th.
Remind APP
If you would like to receive reminders to your phone, we will be sending reminders through our Remind APP. Send a text to: 81010 and in the message put: @diamondcr

Field Day - June 1st
The Diamond Creek PTC will be putting on our annual end of the year Field Day on Friday, June 1st! This is a fun event for our students where each class rotates through fun activity stations such as Tire Relay’s and Tug-O-War.
The event will be in the morning from 9:30-11:45 and we ask that every student wear their classroom T-shirt and a hat, have sunscreen and bring a water bottle. There will be water refill stations at the event.
We need lots of parent volunteers to help make this day successful! Please see the SIGN UP GENIUS below to see what jobs are available. The event is broken down into 3 age groupings: Youngest Classes (TK-1st), Middle Classes (2nd-3rd) and the Older Classes (4th-5th). After the event is over, the kids will eat their lunches outside at their normal lunch time. We encourage parent volunteers to stay and have a picnic lunch with your child. Please note that there will be a bit of a time gap between the end of Field Day and the normal lunch time period.
