Happy Friday Trailblazer families,

 

Happy last week of September!  I feel like we just finished up August and now October is just a week away!  Time sure flies by when we’re having fun at Diamond Creek!   We had our 2nd Village Rally today led by our Honhulu village.  We learned that “I’m in charge of me!” which ties into our letter A for Accountable in LEAD.  Students watched skits and some Village representatives participated in a Minute to Win It game.  We ended the rally by announcing our Sticker Contest Winner…see below for more information.

 

PBIS/VILLAGE STICKER CONTEST WINNER

Thank you to all of the amazing student entries that we received for our 1st PBIS/VILLAGE Sticker Contest.  The PBIS/Village Team narrowed down the over 400 entries to a final four, then our Diamond Creek Staff voted and selected Crimson Funderburgh’s design shown below.  We are so proud of everyone who entered and look forward to bringing this back again next year!

PARKING LOT SAFETY REMINDERS and UPDATES-NEW ROUTE IN MORNING!

Beginning this Monday, September 26th, we will be putting the cones across Hopscotch

Way to change the flow of traffic in the morning so that it matches the pick up flow in the afternoon. 

We are hoping that this will improve the flow of traffic into the large bus loop

during drop off in the morning as well as make the crosswalk more accessible for

families in front of the school.

WALK A THON:  Thank you to everyone that donated for this year’s Diamond Creek’s annual Walk-A-Thon event!  While today was the last day to turn in donations to be eligible for awards.  If you set up a 99pledges personalized page, they are due September 28!

 

SHOUT OUT:  Thank you to the PTC members that participated in the Wednesday give back night.  The Silhouette night was a success!  Thank you to the volunteers that did the tracing, cutting and gluing – the silhouette keepsakes turned out so cute.

 




DINE & DONATE:  Dine & Donate night at Smash Burger on Thursday, September 29. 

A great way to give back to the school by picking up dinner before or after all those

sporting and kid activities. 

 

MOVIE NIGHT:  3rd, 4th and 5th Grade movie night – Friday, September 30. Bring chairs, blankets and pillows to the multipurpose room to cozy up and watch an exciting move.  For more information or purchase your ticket, please visit the PTC website: https://diamondcreekptc.ptboard.com



 

SAFE ROUTES: If your student would like to participate in Safe Routes, meet us Thursday mornings at either the front main gate or side gate to get a shoe tag. Then go to Active4.me to register their tag so you can get notifications with your student on campus.  Each week, students that participate get entered to win a prize.


ROOM COORDINATORS:  Keep a look out in your email – you won’t want to miss what is coming up!

 

FALL FESTIVAL:  Save the Date – Friday, October 14!

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
