Happy Friday Trailblazer families,

 

Another great week is coming to a close here at Diamond Creek.  I am looking forward to our first PTC movie night for T/K-2nd graders tonight. Doors open at 6:00 pm; with the movie beginning at 6:30 pm. More information below in the PTC News section.  We had our first Village Rally today and it was so amazing to have our entire school gathered together celebrating how we are Learning to LEAD at Diamond Creek.  

 


SCHOOL START TIME

We are all working hard to get to school on time this year, especially with the earlier start time.  Please remember that our gates will open at 7:35 am and students may proceed onto the playground at this time.  School begins at the second bell at 7:45 am; this is when we will be closing the gates.  Students arriving after 7:45 am should head to the front office to check in.  Thank you!

 

PARKING LOT SAFETY…A Friendly Reminder

Thank you for remembering to stay with your car at all times when in any of our drop off loops.  Please be mindful of our school neighbors and make sure to leave access to their driveways at all times.  Also when riding your bike or scooter to school, make sure to get off and walk them once on any campus sidewalks. This helps keep all of our students safe as they arrive and leave campus each day!

 

MEAL DUTY SUPERVISOR OPPORTUNITY

We are still looking for some Meal Duty Supervisors at Diamond Creek this year!  They are each an hour long position, one from 11:05-12:05, the other from 11:25-12:25.  If you are interested, please apply through this EdJoin LINK and email Mrs. Phillips (lphillips01@rcsdk8.org) if you have any questions or have submitted your application.  We’d love to have you be a part of our DC Team!


INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT (IA) JOB FAIR

We wanted to make you aware of and encourage you to come and check out some fantastic opportunities we have at  Roseville City School District to serve as an Instructional Assistant for our students.


RCSD is a fantastic workplace, and we are looking for individuals to serve as an IA in our classrooms and with our students! IA positions are flexible, rewarding, and play a key role in supporting our students! 


We will be holding an IA Job Fair on Wednesday, August 31, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the District Office, located at 1050 Main Street, Roseville. 

Our team will give a presentation at 5:30 to provide information about the IA job, locations, hiring, and assist you with completing an application. We will have a supervised room with activities for those who need to bring their child. Come check it out!

 

VILLAGE MEETING THIS FRIDAY

We have our first Village Meeting this Friday, September 2nd!  We will begin our Passport Adventure learning our expectations in 7 common areas of the school.  Each Village will learn how to LEAD in 3 of the areas this week and then learn about the other 4 the following week!  Don’t forget to wear your VILLAGE shirt on FRIDAYS!

 

BREAKFAST AT 7:25 am

Just a quick reminder…we kindly ask you to either drop your child off at the Cafeteria door or if you choose to accompany your child, please sign in at the front Office since you are on campus.  Supervision is provided in the Cafeteria and we will ensure that all students make it safely to their classrooms when school begins.

LIVESCAN

A big thank you to those that participated in the LiveScan event this week.  We had over 60 volunteers scanned so they can volunteer during the school year.  Please remember if you would like to be a category II volunteer you need a Livescan, TB test, and the proper forms turned into the front office.

 

ROOM PARENTS

Room parent emails have started going out - look out for information on how to support your child's classroom.

This week we welcomed 109 new PTC members! Look forward to seeing your name on the PTC website next week.

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
