Week of August 15-19, 2022

 Welcome back, Trailblazer families!

We had a wonderful first two days back to school!  It was so fun to see all of the kids as they walked the red carpet to ring in a new year!  I have enjoyed walking around all of the classrooms and meeting our students!  There are almost 650 of them this year and I will be working hard to get to know their names and faces over the next few weeks.

Remember that starting Monday, August 15th we kindly ask that you say goodbye to your child at the front gates and allow them to walk with their classmates to the playground. They will meet their teachers when the bell rings. The gates will open at 7:35 am and will be closed at 7:45 am. Students arriving after this time will check in through the office and head to class.

Thank you to all of the families who came out to our Back to School Night event!  It has been a pleasure to get to meet all of you as well.  I can already feel how special the community is here at Diamond Creek.  I would like to especially thank our PTC who helped welcome our staff back with a yummy breakfast and coffee bar this last week.  Everyone on campus really appreciated it!

Parking Lot Safety Reminders

With almost 650 students walking, biking, riding the bus and arriving in cars, we appreciate everyone doing their part to help keep our kids safe.  Please be mindful of students crossing in the crosswalks.  Also, if you are dropping off or picking up in the parking lots, please do not leave your car unless you are in a designated parking spot.  If you are along the curb, please stay with your car at all times.  Our Trailblazers thank you so much for your efforts to keep them safe.

Upcoming Events

A couple of events are coming up already:

  • Our first Safe Routes Scan will be on August 18th.  For more information about how to sign up your child to participate or volunteer to help, please see the PTC News below.

  • Don’t forget to join the PTC…I’m really looking forward to eating pizza with the class that has the most membership in the next couple weeks.  See the link in the PTC News to join today!
