Week of August 22-26, 2022

 Happy Friday Trailblazer families,

 We had a fantastic first full week here at Diamond Creek!  Each day our Trailblazers are learning routines and their enthusiasm for learning continues to blossom!  Our classrooms are filling up with student work on the walls and it’s so wonderful to see our kids becoming awesome Listeners, being Empathetic, Accountable and Disciplined!   

 

PARKING LOT SAFETY

Thank you for remembering to stay with your car at all times when in any of our drop off loops.  Please be mindful of our school neighbors and make sure to leave access to their driveways at all times.  Also when riding your bike or scooter to school, make sure to get off and walk them once on any campus sidewalks. This helps keep all of our students safe as they arrive and leave campus each day!

 


WEDNESDAY SPIRIT DAYS

Beginning this year, we will have our Trailblazer Spirit Days on Wednesdays and our Village Days on Fridays!  Each Wednesday the class with the highest Spirit Wear count wins the Gold Spirit Boot for the week!  The following items count as Spirit Wear:

Green and/or yellow/gold clothing  

Village shirts

Previous class/grade level shirts

Diamond Creek spirit wear 

 

VILLAGE RALLY THIS FRIDAY

We have our first Village Rally this Friday, August 26th!  We are so excited to gather the entire school together to learn how we will LEAD with our habits!  On Thursday, August 25th (note date change) we will have our Sorting Day where all students new to Diamond Creek will find out what Village they are a part of for the entire time they are a Trailblazer!  

 

BREAKFAST AT 7:25 am

Beginning Monday, August 22nd, we kindly ask you to either drop your child off at the Cafeteria door or if you choose to accompany your child, please sign in at the front Office since you are on campus.  Supervision is provided in the Cafeteria and we will ensure that all students make it safely to their classrooms when school begins.

 

GIRLS ON THE RUN - NEEDS COACHES FOR THE FALL SEASON

A program that is so popular at our school, and already has a full team of girls, needs our help! They are in search of at least two coaches to impact and empower the girls in the program.

 

What's Required Of Coaches?

  • Commit to the 10-Week Program (Week of September 5 - Week of November 7)

    • Have plans during that time? No Problem! We can bring out a substitute coach while you're gone!

  • Two 90-minute practices a week

    • You and your co-coach can choose the days and times! It's usually sometime Monday-Friday within an hour after school gets out

  • Bring positive and uplifting energy, ready to impact our girls.

  • One of the two coaches must be CPR/First Aid Certified

  • Attend a Girls On The Run Training on Saturday, August 27 from 9am-1:30pm

 

You don't need to be a runner! We just need someone who cares about the girls and their future!

First General Meeting

Please join us for our first General Meeting on Tuesday, August 23rd at 7:00 in the Staff Lounge. Childcare will be provided!


Want to Volunteer and need LIVESCAN Fingerprints done?

PTC has arranged for someone to come and Livescan parent volunteers on Thursday, August 25th from 4:00-6:00pm on campus. Parents are asked to pay a $20 fee and PTC will be cover the rest.


Staff appreciation lunch on Wednesday, September 14th.

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
