Week of February 7-11

Hello Trailblazer Families,

Our students are cruising through Trimester #2 with their learning! It's hard to believe we only have a few weeks left of this Trimester. Our students recently finished their 2nd iReady diagnostic for ELA and Math. Kindergarten students took this diagnostic for the first time this year. Teachers will be sharing the results with you soon. The data provides our staff with individualized student data to help guide each student's instructional needs in the classroom.

An email was sent from Diamond Creek today which shares our start and end times for the 2022-23 school year. Please read through that email carefully to be prepared for the upcoming school year.

Pennies for Patients TOTAL Update -
As of today our Diamond Creek total for Pennies for Patients is $9,010!! This is a huge donation that will go directly to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Foundation. THANK YOU for all of your support at home with this great fundraiser.

Villages
We have a Village Meeting coming up this week. We will continue to review and practice Habit #5: Listen & Learn, focusing on our new essential; If someone bumps into you, say excuse me, even if it was not your fault. Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or color on Wednesday!

Girls on the Run - Attention ALL 3rd-5th grade girls at Diamond Creek:
We set a new record at Diamond Creek with interest in our Girls on the Run team which is amazing! Due to COVID restrictions on team size and the availability of spaces, which are also dependent upon the amount of volunteer coaches we have, we still have some students on our waitlist.  If you are interested in coaching a Girls on the Run team at Diamond Creek, we are looking for two more coaches in order to be able to open up another team for the remaining students we have on our wait list. Please email Mrs. Garcia if you are interested in learning more about becoming a Girls on the Run coach.

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
