Week of February 14-18

Hello Trailblazer Families,

Next Friday, February 18th marks the end of Trimester #2! It's hard to believe we are already 2/3rds through the 2021-22 school year! Report cards will be emailed home on Friday, February 25th. Our students have worked very hard throughout the trimester. Make sure to celebrate their hard work and progress towards their learning goals.

A reminder there is no school Monday, February 14th and Monday, February 21st.

Wednesday, February 23rd is a minimum day for students. All 1st-5th grade students are dismissed at 2:05.

Pennies for Patients TOTAL Update - FINAL!
Our FINAL Diamond Creek total for Pennies for Patients this year WAS $10,289!! This is a huge donation that will go directly to the Lymphoma & Leukemia Foundation. THANK YOU for all of your support at home with this great fundraiser.

Villages
We had a Village Meeting this week. We continued to review and practice Habit #5: Listen & Learn, focusing on our new essential; If someone bumps into you, say excuse me, even if it was not your fault. Students practiced their listening skills with some following directions games and were given time to reflect on a time they disagreed with someone's opinion, but were respectful in their response.

Our students have been practicing their Village chants and we wanted to share these with you as well! HERE are the chants if you'd like to practice at home too!

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
