Week of November 15-19

Hello Trailblazer Families, 

We have a big week coming up with our parent/teacher conferences. We look forward to meeting with our families this week to share the great work our students have accomplished this trimester and discuss the next steps along each student's learning journey. A reminder that this week is an early dismissal for our students. Please see the schedule below.

If you are meeting with teachers in person, a reminder that our RCSD mask policy is for masks to be worn inside at all times regardless of vaccination status.

EARLY DISMISSAL SCHEDULE: November 15-19
ALL Kindergarten Students attend from 8:20-11:56.
ALL Students in Grades 1-5 attend from 8:55- 12:40.

Villages
At our Village Rally on Wednesday, students reviewed Habit #3: Make Priorities Matter. Students discussed one of our Essentials: Work First - Then Play. We discussed things we have to do sometimes at home before we are able to play or have a choice. At school, we often times call these "Must Do" items that we need to get done before we may earn things such as free choice or Fun Friday. Students were also introduced to our Essential: Stand Up For What You Believe In. We discussed when we observe behaviors that are not appropriate or following our Habits and polite ways we can stand up for others and what we believe is right.

Our students have been practicing their Village chants and we wanted to share these with you as well! HERE are the chants if you'd like to practice at home too!

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Week of September 7-11

WEEKLY NEWS We had an exciting week at Diamond Creek with our Special Sorting Day Zoom Rally for our TK/Kinder and all new students to Diamond Creek!! Over 110 students found out their Village on Wednesday morning!  Then we kicked off our Villages on Thursday with an all school rally which was completed in individual classrooms via Zoom.  Linked below are the 7 Habits we discuss at Diamond Creek. Over the school year, we will spend time each month reviewing one of the 7 Habits along with the essentials that align with each Habit.  Habit #1: I'm in Charge of Me will be our focus in two weeks!  Feel free to print and use these posters at home as well. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday!
