Updates from our week at Diamond Creek
Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week. Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you. We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle. Thank you for your time and support!
On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly. The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.
On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL". We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together. I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! We love how engaged our students are in their reading and the excitement they are sharing with others! Thank you for your support in creating excited readers at Diamond Creek.
We all wish you a happy, safe and relaxing Thanksgiving break. I am so thankful to work with such amazing educators each day who truly love kids and have a passion for helping them be successful. I am also thankful for all of you as parents and the support you provide our staff and students. Happy Thanksgiving!

Safety Patrol Volunteers Needed
Our wonderful 4th and 5th grade students help us with our afternoon safety patrol. We are in need of parent volunteers to stand on the corner near our big bus loop to help supervise our students working in the crosswalk area. Even if you don't have a 4th or 5th grade student, we could use your help! Please email Mr. Baker (dbaker@rcsdk8.org) or Mrs. Sessano (ssessano@rcsdk8.org) if you are able to help! The time is usually about 3:05-3:30. Thank you!

BYOD Parent Purchasing Program
#RosevilleRocks
Beginning this week, the Roseville City School District Foundation is raising funds through #RosevilleRocks, a crowdsourcing campaign to help expand our District’s new music education program. You may recall a similar effort last year, which resulted in raising more than $10,000 for the music education program. The Foundation’s goal this year is to raise $15,000 prior to Thanksgiving!!! If every family donated just $5 per child, they would more than meet their goal.
I encourage you to take five minutes, donate $5 and enrich the life of a child through music education.
Please, visit the#RosevilleRocks link to donate today.. and don’t forget to share with your friends and family on social media!
The Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization whose mission is to enhance, expand, and enrich the education of each child in the District. Please click here to see our students and teachers engaged in RCSD music program.
