Week of February 1-5

Hello Trailblazer Families,

We hope you all had a great week! Congratulations to all of our Diamond Creek students for all of their hard work and support of our Pennies for Patients Drive. Our total as of today was $5,942!!  We will continue our Hero Squad for Pennies for Patients for one more week. Thank you for all of your support.

We celebrated our 100th day of school year this week and the 1,000th day of school for our 5th grade students! So much learning to celebrate throughout these days!

An email was sent out from Superintendent Garcia today with updated guidelines for schools that were published from the California Department of Public Health.  Please read through that communication for updated information.

This week we had a Village Rally! We reviewed Habit #5: Listen and Learn.   Students completed a few activities together in which we practiced and reviewed our two essentials. Our two essentials that we are focusing on right now are respecting others comments and ideas even if you do not agree with them as well as asking questions in return when a question is asked of you.  I have noticed how well our students at Diamond Creek have done while learning these habits of asking others how their day is going.  Our students truly put these essentialss and habits to practice at Diamond Creek.

All of our students both on site and in Champions are participating in our Village Rallys and Meetings within their own classrooms.

Happy 1,000th Day of School 5th Graders!

Pennies for Patients - Hero Squad
Diamond Creek once again will be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Hero Squad Program, which is a service-learning program that helps raise critical funds for blood cancer patients.  This year we will be participating all virtually of course! Students will have a class page that will be shared by the classroom teacher.  Students may use this class page to donate their pennies and change. We kicked off our Pennies for Patients drive this week in classrooms and can't wait to continue this week!  Thank you for your support.

Parent/Teacher Conference Week - February 22-26, 2021
Our parent/teacher conferences will be happening this year during the week of February 22-26. Your child's classroom teacher will be reaching out to you to schedule these during that week. All conferences will occur via Zoom.  This is an excellent time for you to meet with your child's teacher to hear progress, updates and to discuss their learning journey with the teacher.  During this week, students are dismissed earlier.  Please review the schedule HERE for our schedule that week.  During conference week, teachers in grades 1-5 will be assigning an extra 45-55 minutes of work for students to complete through OTUS.  It is important that students are completing this work.
