Week of January 3-7

Hello Trailblazer Families,  Have a wonderful, relaxing, and safe winter break. We wish you all a Happy Holidays from our DC family to all of yours! We are so thankful to be part your child's journey in education. Happy Holidays! Students return to class on Tuesday, January 4th. Have a great break! Villages Students completed our next Village Rally in classrooms this past week. We kicked off and reviewed Habit #4: I am Mindful of Others. Our new essential we are focusing on is Greet Visitors and Make Them F eel Welcome . Students brainstormed and practiced different ways of greeting others. This is a great essential for our students to practice at home and in our community as well! Hello Trailblazer Families,  Our 4th and 5th grade students have been hard at work taking the iReady diagnostic this past week. The rest of our students will take this diagnostic after winter break. The iReady diagnostic is taken three times throughout the year. We as a staff use the data from this diagnostic to plan intervention and extension for our students. The diagnostic gives us detailed data on the areas that students have mastered and next steps for them in their learning journey. Your child's teacher will share the results of this diagnostic with you when it's complete in late January. A reminder that Friday, December 17th is an early dismissal.   Hello Trailblazer Families,  We hope you had a great Thanksgiving break and remained healthy and well throughout the break. Thank you for continuing to be mindful of our COVID procedures and keeping students at home if they are not feeling well or you are awaiting a COVID test. This helps us keep more students and staff safe and healthy and in school. Villages We had a Village meeting this past week where we reviewed and practiced Habit #3: Make Priorities Matter. Students reviewed and practiced our focus essential: Stand Up for What You Believe In. Classrooms had discussions about the appropriate way to stand up for ourselves and what this may look like and sound like. Students were also given scenarios and asked to decide if the situation is one that you'd need to use this essential and what that may look like. Hello Trailblazer Families,  Thank you all for your time this week and joining us for parent/teacher conferences. We truly appreciate this time together and look forward to sharing about your child's learning journey. We hope you were able to hear some celebrations and also have a clear understanding of the journey your individual child is on and how we can best support your student at Diamond Creek. Hello Trailblazer Families,  We have a big week coming up with our parent/teacher conferences. We look forward to meeting with our families this week to share the great work our students have accomplished this trimester and discuss the next steps along each student's learning journey. A reminder that this week is an early dismissal for our students. Please see the schedule below. If you are meeting with teachers in person, a reminder that our RCSD mask policy is for masks to be worn inside at all times regardless of vaccination status. Hello Trailblazer Families,  We had a great Week #1 of Trimester #2 this week. Report cards will be emailed home on Friday, November 12th. Your classroom teacher will have a hard copy to share with you at parent/teacher conferences the week of November 15th. We look forward to our time with you during parent/teacher conferences as this is a meaningful time for us to share where your child is at in their learning journey at Diamond Creek. Week of November 1-5

Hello Trailblazer Families,  It's hard to believe today marks the end of Trimester #1 for our students. Please take time to celebrate all of our students' hard work this Trimester. It's been such a celebration to have our students back on campus and in full-time capacity this year. Thank you for helping keep our students safe and healthy so they can remain in school. Report cards will be emailed home November 12th and a reminder that Monday, November 1st there is no school for students. We had a Village Meeting this past Wednesday, October 27th. Students practiced scenarios in which they had a problem that they needed to solve. We discussed different resources we could use to solve our problems and who to go to for help. We will continue to focus on the following Essentials and Habit #2: Know Before You Do. Hello Trailblazer Families,  We had some exciting days at Diamond Creek with Rock Your School Day! Students kicked off the day watching our Staff Rock Out on a pre-recorded dance that was created for students. Hats off to our Staff who learned this dance all virtually and came together one time to record! Students then had the opportunity to engage in rigorous, engaging lessons in our Neon Room, Medical Room, Campfire Area, and "Starbooks"!
