Week of November 4-8

WEEKLY NEWS
We hope you and your families are having a wonderful 4 day weekend together! This week at parent/teacher conferences you will receive your child's report card. Please take time to review your chid's progress with them and celebrate their hard work and learning.  Each amount of progress is worth celebrating!

We look forward to kicking off a new Trimester with our students and continuing their hard work and progress this school year.

A reminder that this week is Parent/Teacher conferences. Students are dismissed early each day, Monday through Friday.  Schedule below:

TK Students: Normal Dismissal Times
ALL Kindergarten Students attend from 8:20-11:56.
ALL Students in Grades 1-5 attend from 8:55- 12:40.

All of our students in grades 2-5 have been taking the iReady diagnostic. Each classroom has a different schedule of when they are taking both the Reading and Math diagnostic.  Students take this diagnostic four times throughout the year to measure growth in a variety of areas.  The data is then used to provide intervention and extension opportunities and provide appropriate instruction in the classroom.

Girls on the Run
We will be hosting a Girls on the Run team again at Diamond Creek this year.  Girls on the Run is available to all of our girls in Grades 3-5.  Girls on the Run is a program created to inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.  We can't wait for our girls to experience this team again this year! We are still looking for one more coach to help us with Girls on the Run this year. Please email Mrs. Garcia if you are interested in learning more.
