WEEKLY NEWS

Hello Diamond Creek Families!

We hope your child(ren) had a great week at Diamond Creek! We had more fun learning experiences in our medical room and glow room with reading, writing and math! We had sentence surgery going on, glow word problems and more!

It's hard to believe we are already at the midway point of Trimester #1.  Progress Reports will be coming home today.  If you have questions or concerns related to the progress reports, our classroom teachers are more than happy to answer those questions or meet with you for further discussion.

Our next Village Rally is coming up this Thursday, October 3rd! We will be reviewing Habit #1: I'm in Charge of Me along with a few of our essentials.  Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or color!

 PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES:
Our Parent/Teacher Conference week is coming up in November (11/4-11/8). Students have an early dismissal each day this week.  Please look below for the schedule. 

 ALL Kindergarten Students attend from 8:20-11:56.
ALL Students in Grades 1-5 attend from 8:55- 12:40.

WALK TO SCHOOL DAY
Wednesday, October 2nd is Walk to School Day!!  We are encouraging our students to walk or bike to school. We will have some special prizes available to students who walk or bike to school. Some special volunteers will also be located at our drop and walk areas around our neighborhood.

 WATCH D.O.G.S. DAYS!
WATCH D.O.G.S. is a Father Figure involvement program that is offered to schools around the Nation. We are so happy to have this wonderful program at Diamond Creek.  Our WATCH D.O.G.S. are invited to spend a day with our students and staff at Diamond Creek helping in classrooms, at recess, lunch and around the building.  We will always make sure your schedule has time in your child(ren) classrooms as well as other classrooms around the building.  If you have more questions about this wonderful program, please email Mrs. Garcia.  If you are interested in volunteering to be a WATCH D.O.G. please fill out this form with your available date.

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
