WEEKLY NEWS
A highlight of our week was our Annual Walk-a-Thon! Thank you to all of our parent volunteers, Mrs. Petrie, Mrs. Weston, our PTC and Mrs. Sydow for organizing this amazing event and fundraiser for our Diamond Creek students. We will keep you posted on the money we raised to go back into the classrooms of our students. Thank you for all of your support!! Envelopes can be turned in through September 20th and 99 Pledges sites will stay open through September 27th. THANK YOU!!
We will have our next Village meeting this Wednesday, September 19th. We are continuing to work on "eyeballs and handshakes". We have been practicing greeting people with handshakes, introducing ourselves and asking questions of each other. Students are doing a wonderful job learning their Village chants and our Diamond Creek chant. They will be well prepared for our first Village Rally on October 3rd. Students are encouraged to wear their Village color or Village T-shirt to school on Wednesday, September 19th.
Our Pizza Night Kick Off Event for WATCH D.O.G.S. is coming up Thursday, September 27th! A flyer was sent home with students this week. Please see below for more information and the RSVP form for our Pizza Night.

GIRLS ON THE RUN
We will be hosting another Girls on the Run team this year at Diamond Creek. Practices start in February and registration is in January, but we are looking for one more coach to help with our team. Girls on the Run is open to our girls in 3rd through 5th grade and is a program that's designed to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Practices are two days a week after school for 90 minutes.

WATCH D.O.G.S. KICK OFF PIZZA NIGHT
WATCH D.O.G.S. is coming back to Diamond Creek for the second year in a row! WATCH D.O.G.S. is one of the nation’s largest and most respected school-based, family, and community engagement, organizations in the country. Who are WatchDOGS? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal. Come learn about our WATCH D.O.G.S. program at Diamond Creek for our kick off event on Thursday, September 27th from 5:00-6:00 PM in our MPR at Diamond Creek. Father figures and their Diamond Creek student(s) are invited to attend.
