Week of September 10-14

WEEKLY NEWS

We had another great week of learning at Diamond Creek! Make sure to ask your students what they are learning in our classrooms.  It's fun to walk through classrooms and observe the progression of learning from our TK students all the way up to our 5th grade students.  We have readers and writers hard at work!

During our Village meeting this week we focused on speaking to others using eye contact and using full sentences when we are sharing and responding.  I have had so many of our students coming up to me and greeting me with a handshake and a "Good Morning Mrs. Garcia".   These essential skills are already becoming apparent in our daily life at Diamond Creek.

If you have not yet checked out our Sorting Day Village Video which shows highlights from our Sorting Day, the link is below.

Coming up this week is our WALK-A-THON!! Our students will enjoy walking together on Thursday morning.  Our Walk-a-Thon is our largest fundraiser for our students.  Money from our fundraiser goes towards technology in our classrooms for our students, Villages work, and more! Students may collect pledges in their envelopes or direct family and friends to their personal 99 pledges page.  We appreciate all of your support for this big day at Diamond Creek!
