Week of October 16-20

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek 
Thank you to all of our parents, volunteers and our amazing Fall Festival committee who are helping organize a wonderful evening for us tonight at our Fall Festival.   So many people have been busy setting up and preparing for our event.  I'm excited to see all of the costumes, games, and smiles at Diamond Creek tonight.  Another huge thank you to everyone that was busy baking for our Bake Sale tonight.  It all looks delicious!

I have enjoyed some of my time this week working with groups of students during our intervention time in each grade level.  Our grades 1-5 all have RtI, intervention, time that is built into our day and designated to give our students extra support in a variety of areas. During this time I have enjoyed taking a few groups of 30 students as well! This week we were busy making a Sphero golf course.  Students built their golf holes in collaborative groups and then used time to either code the Sphero or drive the Sphero from the start to the end of the golf hole, similar to mini golf.  Students did an amazing job collaborating and being creative with each other!

It's that time of year again! Our Lost & Found is beginning to fill up! We lay out all items during lunch time and try to show each group of students. Please ask your child to continue checking our lost and found for any items you may be missing.

WATCH D.O.G.S.
We had our first WATCH D.O.G. today and it was AWESOME!! Thank you to all of our Dads that have signed up for day(s) so far this year! Your positive reinforcement truly makes a difference!

 Please click on the link below to sign up for a WATCH D.O.G.S. day if you are interested! Mrs. Garcia will send out another form in November for the remainder of the year. If there is a day after January that you are interested in signing up, just email Mrs. Garcia to sign up.  Stay tuned for our 2nd WATCH D.O.G.S. event that will happen in January - Donuts with Dads! Thank you for all of your support starting this program at Diamond Creek. We are excited to have so many positive male role models at Diamond Creek helping with our students.

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
