Happy Friday Trailblazer families,

 

These last 3 days have been full of wonderful learning and fun here at Diamond Creek!  This morning the students were greeted by the Diamond Creek Staff Carolers!  We even had Buddy and Papa Elf join in on the festivities!  We kept the music going with our Music Ensemble performance this morning!  Many thanks to Ms. Dow and her wonderful musicians!  It was a very special way to spend our last morning of 2022 together.  

 

TRAILBLAZER MARKET AND TOY DRIVE UPDATE

In the last two weeks, the PTC gave $280.00 in “market dollars” to teachers to give out to students who showed kindness and leadership. 

 

The market was able to raise $2,800.00 for the Diamond Creek Toy Drive.

Amazing!  We could not have done it without the help of our volunteers.

The PTC board would like to thank you for your support and donations. Next year will be bigger and better.  

 

On Thursday, December 22nd, 21 of our Fifth Grade Students met Ms. Triplett, Mrs. Lopez, and myself at the Roseville Police Department.  The kids loaded into special

RPD vehicles with members of the Roseville Police Department to deliver the toys to five different communities in Roseville.  Many thanks and appreciation to all of our families that donated toys to our Toy Drive and to our PTC for the additional $2,800.00 to purchase more toys based on the funds raised at the Trailblazer Market!  The smiles on all of the kids' faces was something that will be in my heart forever!  It was truly a wonderful day!

 

WINTER BREAK

We will be on Winter Break from 12/22/22 through 1/9/23.  Teachers have a Professional Development day on 1/9/23 and the first day back in the New Year for students will be January 10th.

 

SAMI’s CIRCUIT IS COMING IN THE NEW YEAR


Our District has purchased a subscription for Sami’s Circuit on Demand for the rest of the school year.  These weekly 20 minute lessons focus on Social Emotional Learning and Physical Movement.  Sami also hosts Virtual Family Nights where you can move with Sami from the comfort of your home.  The next one will be on February 8th from 6:00-7:00 pm.  Here is the LINK for the LiveFeed.

GATE TESTING

For those families who signed up for GATE testing at Diamond Creek, I just wanted to send a quick reminder that it will take place after school on the first day we return to school, Tuesday, January 10, 2023.  The 3rd graders will test in Room 18 (Mrs. DiGiovanni’s room) and the 4th and 5th graders will test in Room 14 (Mr. Baker’s Room).  If you have signed up for GATE testing you should have received an email confirming your sign up.  Please email Kristen Desimone at kdesimone@rcsdk8.org with any questions.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS: The PTC wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season – we hope that you enjoy time with your loved ones and we look forward to exciting new activities in the new year!

 

Thank you to the students, staff and families who have made the first half of our school year so special!  I love to spend my days here at Diamond Creek and I am so proud of all of our Trailblazers!  We have a very special campus family and I want to wish everyone a fabulous Winter Break and a very Happy New Year! See you Next Year on Tuesday, January 10, 2023!

November 27-December 1

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
