Week of December 19-23, 2022

 Happy Friday Trailblazer families,

It was a fabulous week here at Diamond Creek!  Many classes have been doing daily Kindness activities and spreading cheer to others around the school! These kids are incredible and so thoughtful of others! I loved going into all of the Fifth Grade classes on Thursday to read a Winter story with them!  Third Grade has been busy sharing their Tradition Reports this week as well!  On Wednesday, we enjoyed a yummy lunch put together by our PTC! The staff enjoyed the soups, salads, and sweet treats! (see pictures below in PTC NEWS.) Thank you on behalf of all our DC Staff! We finished the week up with our Village Meeting today with a very funny story called Interrupting Chicken and the students focused on what it looks like to be Disciplined at school.  Thank you to the staff leaders of the Makkiti Village for preparing today’s meeting!

Our first Trailblazer Market has been a huge success and I will update you on how much it helped raise for our Toy Drive in next week’s Blog!  I want to say a HUGE shout out to the PTC members and parent volunteers who helped our students have such a fabulous shopping experience!  The students worked hard keeping to their budgets and enjoyed purchasing items for others!  Thank you again to our PTC, you are the best!

Speaking of the best, I want to recognize the fantastic and caring staff we have here at Diamond Creek!  Walking around the Village Meetings today, it really was apparent that ALL kids truly are OUR kids here!  The students are able to connect with the adults in their Villages along with the special connections they have with their own classroom teachers.  As we head into the New Year, I want to thank each and every adult who spends their days here at Diamond Creek, I appreciate you!  It is a joy to come to school EVERY day!

WINTER BREAK

We will be on Winter Break from 12/22/22 through 1/9/23.  Teachers have a Professional Development day on 1/9/23 and the first day back in the New Year for students will be January 10th.

MAKER SPACE REQUEST

Our wonderful maker space, a project envisioned by Mrs. Garcia, our former principal, is in full swing.  The students have been able to visit with their classes and create some amazing creations!  One the supplies we noticed we could use are extra lego separator tools.  Here is a LINK to the tools if you would like to donate some to our Maker Space. Thank you for supporting our DC students!

THANK YOU HOLIDAY STAFF LUNCHEON:  The PTC is so grateful to all of you who prepared and donated food, beverages and money to the Holiday Staff Luncheon – it was a huge success because of you!  The teachers enjoyed all of their goodies and even were able to take home some leftovers to enjoy.  Thank you again!  Your support helped us provide another awesome and well received luncheon for Diamond Creek!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS: The PTC wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season – we hope that you enjoy time with your loved ones and we look forward to exciting new activities in the new year!

Have a wonderful weekend and here’s to three more great days next week!
