WEEKLY NEWS
This week our 2nd grade students enjoyed a field trip to the Exploration Center and our 1st grade students attended the play Curious George. Students came back with smiles and represented Diamond Creek in such positive ways! We are very proud of our students.
This week we will have our next Village Rally on Thursday, January 23rd. Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or color. We will be reviewing Habit #4: I am Mindful of Others.
A reminder there is no school on Monday, January 20th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
We kicked off our annual Pennies for Patients Drive today with a wonderful assembly with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society leader. Students will be coming home with their penny boxes to begin collecting pennies and coins that will go to help students with blood cancers. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
PARENTS NIGTH OUT - A PERFECT NIGHT OUT WITH YOUR VALENTINE!!
Time to take a night off and enjoy yourself!! At Diamond Creek on February 7th, we are offering our 2nd Parents Night Out for our students and any child not in diapers. This is a fundraiser to help our teachers receive more professional development opportunities. Our Parents Night Out in December was a huge hit with our students. We all had a blast and can't wait to do this again! Click HERE for more information and to get signed up!
GIRLS ON THE RUN - REGISTRATION OPENS - JANUARY 20th @ 8:00 AM!
Girls on the Run registration opens on January 20th at 8:00 am for any of our girls in grades three through five at Diamond Creek! Girls on the Run practices begin the week of February 10th and will be held at Diamond Creek on Tuesdays and Thursdays form 3:30-5:00. The program ends with a 5K run on May 9th in Sacramento. SAVE THE DATE - DIAMOND CREEK OPEN HOUSE - MAY 19th!
Our annual Open House will be at Diamond Creek on Tuesday, May 19th from 6-7:30. This is a wonderful time for students and families to join us at Diamond Creek. Our students will have their wonderful work on display to showcase their year of learning. We will also have a Spring Book Fair happening during this time!

WATCH D.O.G.S. DAYS!
WATCH D.O.G.S. is a Father Figure involvement program that is offered to schools around the Nation. We are so happy to have this wonderful program at Diamond Creek. Our WATCH D.O.G.S. are invited to spend a day with our students and staff at Diamond Creek helping in classrooms, at recess, lunch and around the building. We will always make sure your schedule has time in your child(ren) classrooms as well as other classrooms around the building. If you have more questions about this wonderful program, please email Mrs. Garcia. If you are interested in volunteering to be a WATCH D.O.G. please fill out this form with your available date.

Intra/Inter District Transfers - The window for Intra district transfers opens January 6, 2020.
Inter District Transfers - Must start at your district of residence to release you. Inter district transfers need to be done every year.
