Week of May 13-17

WEEKLY NEWS
We had a wonderful week at Diamond Creek celebrating our staff and honoring them for all of their hard work.  Thank you for all of the kind notes, treats and love you surrounded them all with this week, it was all greatly appreciated.  We love our staff and are so thankful for all they do for our students at Diamond Creek.

We had our last Village Meeting of the year on Wednesday. We reviewed Habit 7: Find Your Balance.  Students participated in a fun four corners game where they were asked questions about strengths and areas of growth when it comes to balance in their life in these four areas: Mind, Body, Soul, and Heart.  We discussed strategies to help us keep these areas of our life in Balance.  We will have one more Village Rally on May 22nd as the grand finale of our year!

A reminder that open house is Thursday, May 16th from 6-7:30, students will be dismissed at 2:05.

School Site Council - Open Positions for 2019-20 School Year
One of the most important functions in California’s public schools is the organization of a School Site Council (SSC).  This is a mandated State funded program where parents are elected to represent fellow parents in making decisions with the school staff on school-wide topics.  Issues such as school safety, parking, use of instructional aides, curricular programs being considered for adoption, and determining how some school improvement activities occur are important topics usually discussed by a Site Council.  In a sense, the Council is like a rudder of a ship helping to point out the ship’s direction.

We have two openings for Site Council positions for the 2019-20 school year.  If you are interested in serving on our Site Council, please email Mrs. Garcia with a statement on why you are interested in serving on our Site Council.
