Week of February 26-March 2

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek
Our 2nd grade students have been hard at work on their Life Cycle Play.  Mrs. Kuhtz and Ms. Cain's classes performed their plays last week for our school and families and then the remaining two 2nd grade classes (McKenzie & Conaty/Locsin) performed this week. The students worked very hard and were excited to perform their plays for live audiences.

Lots of reading and good books being shared around Diamond Creek! Our students have continued to engage in book talks to share their favorite books with other students around the building.  We also kicked off our 2nd Breakfast & Books with our 2nd and 3rd grade students this week.  Our students are reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and enjoying some breakfast and book conversations together on Thursday mornings.

Movie nights are in full swing as well! We will have our first movie night of the year with our 4th and 5th grade students tonight. They will be watching Wonder, which we also had as a Breakfast and Books Club this year.  Check out the calendar for upcoming Movie Nights for our other grade levels.

If you have not done so already, please take a few minutes to complete our 2017-18 Parent Survey which is linked below and was also sent in an email on February 15th from Mrs. Garcia. Our Site Council will review the results of this survey at our meeting on March 14th to discuss what is going well at Diamond Creek and improvements we can make moving forward. We appreciate your time and input in helping us continuously improve.
