What's Coming Up This Week? January 16-20
It was a great week having students back in our classrooms!! Staff had some great learning time together as a district on Tuesday and it was fun to see some of the learning implemented into our classrooms right away.  Teachers are collaborating with each other and continuing to show students we are learners too!  Please read below for the updates for this week.

Grading % in PowerSchool
As a district, Trimester #2 grades will be based upon the following percentages.
    • Conversion= Target-80-100   Basic-60-79    Limited-1-59

 Father/Daughter Dance
Father/Daughter Dance flyers came home this week. Friday, February 10th will be our father/daughter dance this year from 6:30-8:30 PM at Diamond Creek.  Please return the form that was sent home to the office with payment.

 Open House -
The Open House date for this school year will be Thursday, May 11th, 2017! Please save the date. More details to follow in upcoming months.

Girls on the Run
I am excited to let you know that we will be hosting a Girls on the Run team this year at Diamond Creek for our 3rd-5th grade girls.  This team will meet twice a week (Tuesdays & Thursdays) for 1.5 hours each time from 3:15-4:45.

Girls on the Run is a place where girls learn that they can.  No limits. No constraints.  Only opportunity to be remarkable.  Twice a week for 12 weeks, your girls will learn that her worth comes from within and that she can have an impact on the world around her.  At the end of the season, she will be emotionally and physically prepared to complete a 5k event.

Season begins week of February 13th.  Scholarships available for families in need.  Spaces are limited, so don’t delay! Online registration is available January 23rd through February 17th.

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents for taking time to meet with your child's teacher this week.  Our teachers appreciate this face to face meeting time with you.  We are all a team working together to help each child at Diamond Creek be successful and your support is such an important piece of the puzzle.  Thank you for your time and support! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have our local Fire Department visit us and lead us through a fire safety assembly.  The students learned what to do in the case of a fire and were able to see the transformation that happens when our firefighters put on all of their gear.  On Wednesday, we had a building wide "READING DRILL".  We all stopped, dropped and read! It was a delight to see students throughout our whole building reading for 15 minutes all together.  I had so many students afterwards tell me they wished it was longer and ask if we could do that everyday! Week of September 12-16, 2022

  9/9/2022   Happy Friday Trailblazer families,   We completed our LEAD Passport adventure today.  Your children have now traveled to all 7 of our common areas to learn what it looks like to be great Listeners, be Empathetic, be Accountable and how to be Disciplined. Due to the smoke, we had them meet in their Village Meeting Spot and the presenters traveled to the students.
