Week of May 18-22
WEEKLY NEWS
Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #5 of Distance Learning went well for you. We're all so proud of the hard work students are putting in while learning virtually. We love seeing your students on zoom meetings and miss them all so much. Please give them a hug from us.
We are excited to share with you the Diamond Creek Student News. Our latest and final edition of Diamond Creek Student News-Staying Connected Virtually edition is HERE. Thank you to our student leadership, Ms. Triplett and Mrs. Lopez for all of your work with this fun project.
On May 18, all RSCD teachers will not be online with students. Instead, teachers will be learning about new curriculums that will be implemented in the 2020-2021 school year and will be working with colleagues planning lessons for the remainder of the school year. Students WILL NOT be assigned new work on this day. Instead, we suggest independent reading, catching up on incomplete assignments, or engaging in an enrichment activity.
Material Pick Up Days ~ June 1st and 2nd will be the days for picking up the end of the school year items. Please see the schedule for suggested material pick up times. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. rconway@rcsdk8.org
Please make sure to be reading through all email and messages sent through district communication. This will keep you up to date on information that is being shared with our RCSD community. The FAQ sheet linked below is also a great resource that answers many common questions.
Diamond Creek's phone lines are now open 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM, Monday - Friday to answer your questions! A Diamond Creek staff member is waiting by the phone to answer your questions about registration, enrollment, meal services and more.As a reminder, you can also email your principal or teacher with any questions. So, give us a call, drop us a line - we're here to help!
District FAQ Sheet & Continuous Learning Site
As a district, we know there has been a lot of information and questions can come from that information, so we put together a Frequently Asked Question document. Please click on this link to see answers to the most commonly asked questions regarding Distance Learning. The document has been added to the RCSD Continuous Learning Site and will be updated if needed. We thank you again for all of your support during this time.
Request for Non-Emergency Mental Health Support
We miss seeing your students so much and know this can be a stressful time for families. If you would like to connect with one of the mental health professionals in our district or need additional support during distance learning, please fill out this non-emergency form HERE. After the form is received, someone will be in contact with you after 48 business hours. This form will be re-introduced and actively monitored when school resumes in the Fall. Forms will close on May 28 but a page of resources will replace the form on the CL website. CareSolace will continue to be available Click here for link
