Week of November 18-22

WEEKLY NEWS Students across Diamond Creek have been working on their "small moment" stories as part of the Narrative writing unit in our new Lucy Calkins writing curriculum.  Over the last few weeks, it's been fun to see common language, anchor charts and instruction happening K-5 with increasing difficulty. We had a Village Rally on Thursday that was led by our Tawalihape Village.  We reviewed  Habit #2: Know Before You Do.   We discussed goal setting and making a plan on how to achieve that goal.  If there are mistakes or set backs along the way, it's ok! We relook at the plan and continue moving forward towards our goals. WEEKLY NEWS Thank you to all of our families who attended parent/teacher conferences this week.  We hope you enjoyed the time learning about your child's progress this Trimester.  Our teachers value this time they have with you to share about each student's learning journey.  As always, our teachers are available for questions or further discussion you would like to have along your child's learning journey at Diamond Creek. Our next Village Rally is coming up this Thursday, November 14th.  We will be reviewing Habit #2: Know Before You Do.   Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or Village color.  A reminder that there is no school for students on Monday in honor of Veteran's Day.  A Happy Veteran's Day to all of the Veterans in our community! Week of November 4-8

WEEKLY NEWS We hope you and your families are having a wonderful 4 day weekend together! This week at parent/teacher conferences you will receive your child's report card. Please take time to review your chid's progress with them and celebrate their hard work and learning.  Each amount of progress is worth celebrating! We look forward to kicking off a new Trimester with our students and continuing their hard work and progress this school year. A reminder that this week is Parent/Teacher conferences. Students are dismissed early each day, Monday through Friday.  Schedule below: TK Students: Normal Dismissal Times ALL Kindergarten Students attend from 8:20-11:56. ALL Students in Grades 1-5 attend from 8:55- 12:40. All of our students in grades 2-5 have been taking the iReady diagnostic.
