December 17-21

WEEKLY NEWS

Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope you're having a wonderful December with family and friends. A reminder that Friday is a minimum day, students will be dismissed at 2:05.

This week we had our Village Rally.  Our focus this month is Habit #3: Make Priorities Matter.  At our rally we talked about working before we play.  We reviewed the following key points of Habit 3:
1. I do the things that I have to do before I do the things that I want to do
2. I stay focused on what I'm doing.  I try to minimize distractions and regroup if I get off task.
3. I spend my time on the things that are most important.

These are such great lessons for our students and good reminders for us as adults!

We updated our Habits posters to show our essentials and link with our village names.  The posters are attached below, feel free to use in your homes as well.

Girls on the Run
We will be hosting a Girls on the Run team again at Diamond Creek this year.  Girls on the Run is available to all of our girls in Grades 3-5.  Registration opens on January 21st at 8:00 am. Each team may have up to 20 participants.

Girls on the Run is a program created to inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through our research-based curricula which includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event.  We can't wait for our girls to experience this team again this year!
