Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  We had many fun fall celebrations happening at Diamond Creek this week! The students are excited about pumpkins, costumes and candy! We hope you have a safe and exciting Halloween weekend!  A reminder that there is no school on Monday (10/30) and Tuesday (10/31) this week. Our staff will be busy learning with other staff around the district and at our own site. We started our first Breakfast & Books Club this week for our 2nd and 3rd graders. This was a book club offered to all students in 2nd and 3rd grade.  We are reading, The Year of Billy Miller , together.  Stay tuned for a Breakfast & Books opportunity for our 4th and 5th grade students coming up soon! This is a great time for students to dive deep into a new book and discuss the book with their peers over some yummy breakfast! In addition to our Breakfast & Books, we are doing many things around the building to engage our young readers and ignite an exci...

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  It was another week of exciting learning at Diamond Creek! Our 4th grade students went on a field trip to Sutter's Fort and came back excited to share all of the details and connections they made on the trip! Our second grade students were busy writing letters to their pen pals at Vencil Brown and I enjoyed listening to our Kindergarten authors share their stories with the class.  Make sure to check out our Twitter page too as our 5th grade students had a special weather visitor from KCRA! To top it off we had some great cowboys and cowgirls dressed up for our spirit day today! We are enjoying the presence of our WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) on campus as well! These Dads have been so helpful with drop off and pick up supervision, reading with students, playing with them at recess and enjoying being part of our day at Diamond Creek!  We are thankful for all of our Dads who are making a difference for our students at Dia...

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Thank you to all of our parents, volunteers and our amazing Fall Festival committee who are helping organize a wonderful evening for us tonight at our Fall Festival.   So many people have been busy setting up and preparing for our event.  I'm excited to see all of the costumes, games, and smiles at Diamond Creek tonight.  Another huge thank you to everyone that was busy baking for our Bake Sale tonight.  It all looks delicious! I have enjoyed some of my time this week working with groups of students during our intervention time in each grade level.  Our grades 1-5 all have RtI, intervention, time that is built into our day and designated to give our students extra support in a variety of areas. During this time I have enjoyed taking a few groups of 30 students as well! This week we were busy making a Sphero golf course.  Students built their golf holes in collaborative groups and then used time to either ...

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  We have a big week coming up at Diamond Creek! Our Book Fair will be with us all week and we are excited to see our library full of great books for our students.  On Friday, October 13th, Diamond Creek will host our Fall Festival.  This is a community event, not a fundraiser.  We invite all of our Diamond Creek community to come enjoy games, food, family and friends! In order to keep our Fall Festival games and stations running the whole night, we need your help! Calling all aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, and other family members! If you are able to help with the station at your child's classroom, please click on the link below. We want this to be the best Fall Festival yet, but we can't do this without you!
