Week of March 6-10

What's Coming Up This Week? March 6-10
If you have a 3rd-5th grade student I hope they have shared with you their experience with our new Spheros! All of our 3-5 students have now had the opportunity to collaborate, problem solve and learn how to code.  Next up is our TK-2nd grade classes. They will be using the Spheros in the next few weeks. Our teachers even had some time to experiment with coding this week at our Staff Meeting. Our goal is to have this set of Spheros traveling to classrooms so students are having the opportunity to create and code! They are loving this time.  To finish off our February month of I Love to Read Month I also had the opportunity to read aloud some of my favorite books in our classrooms. It was a true treat to read with all of your students!

iReady Testing
Our 2nd through 5th grade students are finishing up their third round of iReady testing this week. This is a diagnostic test in ELA and Math which allows us to measure progress of our students and determine individual needs.  Our teams use this data to plan intervention groups and to meet the individual needs of each student.

Morning Safety Patrol
We now have some 4th and 5th grade students who are helping us with our bus loop in the mornings.  They will have orange vests on and be standing in the large bus loop.  Please pull up all the way to the end of the loop when entering and our 4th and 5th graders will help open doors and greet your students.  This allows the students to hop right out so that you as a driver can continue moving through the bus loop.  Please remember to always form one line in the bus loop, we have been close to some accidents from cars trying to go around cars.  Please wait in line for your turn to pull up, do not form another line to go around cars.

We ask that you are not using your cell phone while driving on to our campus to pick up or drop off students, this can be distracting and cause unsafe conditions for our students. We want to make sure to keep our students safe, please drive slow and use patience in the bus loops.

Adult supervision begins at 8:45 am, please do not have students arrive on campus before this time.  Thank you
