Girls on the Run is a place where girls learn that they can.  No limits. No constraints.  Only opportunity to be remarkable.  Twice a week for 12 weeks, your girls will learn that her worth comes from within and that she can have an impact on the world around her.  At the end of the season, she will be emotionally and physically prepared to complete a 5k event.

Season begins week of February 13th.  Scholarships available for families in need.  Spaces are limited, so don’t delay! Online registration is available January 23rd through February 17th.

Attendance
Instructional minutes are very important at school and we want your child to receive all the learning time available each day.  Regular attendance is important for students as they are learning each day and lessons from day to day are building upon each other.  Research shows that children who attend school regularly are much more likely to be successful during their school years.  Students also have more success after graduation when they have regular school attendance as they have developed habits of good attendance and prompt work completion.  We encourage all of our students to to be at school all day, every day and on time unless there is an illness or emergency prevents them from doing so.  Our goal is to work together as parents, school administrators, and teachers to help our children develop proper attitudes about attendance.

In an effort to support attendance, California State Law and Roseville City School District Policy was developed.  Diamond Creek will be enforcing the SARB process for truancy.  When a child has three unexcused absences, three unexcused late arrivals in excess of 30 minutes, or a combination of the two, parents will receive the first truancy letter.  The process is cumulative and additional truancy letters will be sent upon further unexcused absences or late arrivals.  If a student has 10 excused absences, an excessive absence letter will be sent home.

Excused absences are those for illness, medical appointment, or funeral.  If your child is going to be absent please contact the Diamond reek absent hotline at 916-771-1760, press 1.

If you are planning a vacation, your student is eligible for Independent Study if they will be out for 5 or more days. Please come to the office to pick up Independent Study paperwork. Request typically must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the scheduled absence.  Once the completed paperwork is received, teachers will be able to provide school work for your student 1-2 days prior to the scheduled absence.

Thank you for helping us all work together to make sure our students are in school and learning to their highest potential!
