WEEKLY NEWS This past week we counted up the pennies and coins we have raised for Pennies for Patients and just after one week our total was $5,019!! Our goal is $10,000 to donate towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are off to an incredible start! Thank you for all of your support with this at home. This week we will have a Village Meeting on Thursday. Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or color.  We will be reviewing  Habit #4: I am Mindful of Others and our new Essential:  When you win, do not brag. WEEKLY NEWS It was a fast and furious week of learning at Diamond Creek this week! We also celebrated 100 days of school for our students this year and 1000 days of school for our 5th grade students! Students have much to celebrate as they have made so much progress along their learning journey in these 100 days!! We are excited to continue this journey alongside each of our students. At our rally this week we reviewed Habit #4: I am Mindful of Others. We reviewed how our body language and tone of voice effect our communication and how that is perceived by others.  We also introduced our new Essential: When you win, do not brag. When you lose, do not show anger .  At our rally we talked about celebrations and how we should celebrate our improvement, home runs, hard work, etc but how that changes when it goes to bragging vs. celebrating.  We will discuss this Habit and Essential more at our Village Meeting in two weeks. WEEKLY NEWS This week our 2nd grade students enjoyed a field trip to the Exploration Center and our 1st grade students attended the play Curious George .  Students came back with smiles and represented Diamond Creek in such positive ways! We are very proud of our students. This week we will have our next Village Rally on Thursday, January 23rd. Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or color. WEEKLY NEWS It was a wonderful week at Diamond Creek with students back in our classrooms! Excitement about their winter breaks filled classrooms and conversations. I'm sure many of them came home tired to you as they often mentioned how hard it was to turn back on those alarms at home! They will be ready for some good sleep this weekend! This week at our Village Meeting we reviewed  Habit #3: Make Priorities Matter.  We discussed the goals that we have set and planned out the appropriate steps to achieve those goals.  Our discussions included how to minimize distractions and do the important work first before we play.  Students had great ideas on how to break their goals into chunks and set timelines for those milestones.
