WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families, It's hard to believe this is our final blog post of the 2018-19 school year.  Thank you for all of your support this year in your child's education. It truly takes a Village and we appreciate your partnership in the academic, social and emotional growth of our children at Diamond Creek.  Please take time this summer to relax, enjoy and celebrate the progress of your child(ren). They have worked hard!  Of course, we love when our students read, read, read over the summer as well and come back excited to share new books they have read! A reminder that there is No School Monday  - Happy Memorial Day!    Students are dismissed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 2:05 .  Our last day of school is Thursday, May 30th.  Please join us at our Dine in the Park event happening on Wednesday evening from 5-8 PM in the park right next to Diamond Creek. WEEKLY NEWS Thank you to all of our families for visiting us at Open House last night. Our students have worked so hard this year and they were so excited to share their work with you.  We hope you enjoyed your time last evening and have many great keepsakes for your home. Coming up this week we have our last Village Rally. We will be reviewing all 7 of our Habits and celebrating our work this year.  Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or Village color on Wednesday. Friday is also our Field Day! This is a really fun morning for our students that is organized by our wonderful PTC.  We are still in need of some amazing volunteers to help us keep every station open for our students.  Sign up HERE . WEEKLY NEWS We had a wonderful week at Diamond Creek celebrating our staff and honoring them for all of their hard work.  Thank you for all of the kind notes, treats and love you surrounded them all with this week, it was all greatly appreciated.  We love our staff and are so thankful for all they do for our students at Diamond Creek. We had our last Village Meeting of the year on Wednesday. We reviewed Habit 7: Find Your Balance.   Students participated in a fun four corners game where they were asked questions about strengths and areas of growth when it comes to balance in their life in these four areas: Mind, Body, Soul, and Heart.  We discussed strategies to help us keep these areas of our life in Balance.  We will have one more Village Rally on May 22nd as the grand finale of our year! WEEKLY NEWS We had an exciting week at Diamond Creek! Our 4th grade students went on their big field trip to Coloma! This is always a highlight for our 4th grade students. On Friday, we welcomed our Grandparents to Diamond Creek for our 2nd grade Grandparents Day.  Our 2nd grade students performed beautiful songs for our Grandparents and were able to learn more about their grandparents traditions and hobbies.  This is always a very special day for our students and Grandparents. We have many science experiments alive and well at Diamond Creek! Students in multiple grade levels are studying and observing the life cycle.  We have plants growing, caterpillars moving through their life cycle and chick eggs that will be hatching soon!
