Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  Our 2nd grade students have been hard at work on their Life Cycle Play.  Mrs. Kuhtz and Ms. Cain's classes performed their plays last week for our school and families and then the remaining two 2nd grade classes (McKenzie & Conaty/Locsin) performed this week. The students worked very hard and were excited to perform their plays for live audiences. Lots of reading and good books being shared around Diamond Creek! Our students have continued to engage in book talks to share their favorite books with other students around the building.  We also kicked off our 2nd Breakfast & Books with our 2nd and 3rd grade students this week.  Our students are reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and enjoying some breakfast and book conversations together on Thursday mornings. Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  It was a week full of Valentine's love for our friends and family at Diamond Creek! We enjoyed a wonderful performance by the Auburn Symphony on Wednesday.   The students truly enjoyed the beautiful music and I even was able to perform a triangle solo! The iReady testing window began this week for our 2nd through 5th grade students.  This is a diagnostic assessment that students take four times throughout the year.  This is our third test of the 17-18 school year. Teachers use the data from this assessment to plan classroom lessons, small group lessons and interventions based on what students need. Our Pennies for Patients finished up at the end of last week.  Congratulations to all of our Diamond Creek students and families. We will be presenting the Lymphoma and Leukemia Foundation with a check for $ 8,548.24!! Thank you for all of your support with our penny drive.    A reminder there is No School ...

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek  It was another busy week of learning at Diamond Creek! Please be looking for Movie Night flyers to be coming home with your students. We have some great movies picked out for our students and those will be coming up at the end of February and March.  Our 4th and 5th grade movie even aligns with our Breakfast & Books book that we read together! February is also I Love to Read Month! Our students are excited about books and finding many ways to share about what they are reading and recommending books to their peers.  I enjoyed reading to a few classrooms this week and will continue reading to classrooms throughout February! The book I am reading to students is extra special to me as the author is my dear friend that I taught with back in Minnesota! It's been fun to share her writing with our students. A reminder there is No School this Monday, February 12th or the following Monday, February 19th in observance of Lincoln's B...
