WEEKLY NEWS It's hard to believe this is our last week of Trimester #2! The end of the Trimester is coming up this Friday, March 1st and report cards will be sent home on March 8th.  Our students are working hard, persevering and achieving goals. This week some of our 2nd grade students performed their Life Cycle Play for other classes. We have a few more performances coming up this week.  In 5th grade, our students are reading, writing and constructing their human body projects. They are learning about the muscles, bones and systems of our body and making a life size model. This week at our Village Rally we began discussing Habit #5: Listen and Learn.  Students practiced active listening and what this looks like when we are having conversations with our friends and adults.  How do we respond so people know we are listening and engaged in their conversations? We discussed asking questions back to others when they ask questions to us and responding in sentences. ...

WEEKLY NEWS Our final total as of this week for our Pennies for Patients Drive is $6,916.99.  Congratulations to all of our students and families for your amazing work to help the Lymphoma and Leukemia society. Thank you for all of your support helping this be a successful penny drive. Our students had a wonderful Valentine's Day together.  Lots of kindness being shared across Diamond Creek. Our 2nd through 5th grade students have been hard at work taking their iReady Diagnostic in Reading and Math. This diagnostic is taken four times throughout the year to measure growth.  Our students have set goals each time and have been working hard to achieve those goals.  It's fun to watch them persevere in their learning and celebrate the successes along the way of their journey. WEEKLY NEWS As of last Monday our Pennies for Patients total was over $3,000 after one week! We can't wait to hear our new total on Monday. Thank you for all of your support with this at home as we reach to achieve our goal of $10,000 being donated to the lymphoma and leukemia society. Our students are hard at work in their classrooms.  I am constantly amazed at the math conversations they are having with each other.  Often times, our students are teaching me a variety of strategies to solve a particular math concept. Their ability to share why and how they solved a problem using a particular strategy is so fun to hear! This week our Villages will meet on Wednesday for our Village meeting. We will continue reviewing Habit #4 and discussing how our tone of voice and body language contribute to our communication with others.
