What's Coming Up This Week? May 29-June 2 This week our choir students performed an amazing concert on Tuesday night for a packed MPR! I am absolutely amazed at the musicality and stage presence of our young singers.  If someone was just listening, you would think they were Middle School students for sure! Hats off to Mrs. Dahl for all of her work with our students in the mornings before school and a huge thank you to all of our students and parents for getting up early to rehearse. We finished our CAASPP testing this week.  Our students in grades 2-5 began iReady testing this week which is a diagnostic we use four times throughout the year to measure student progress. We use this data in our PLCs to plan intervention.  The spring data will help us measure progress and also give us some valuable information as we head into the Fall. What's Coming Up This Week? May 22-26 Congratulations to our Girls on the Run team who competed in their 5k last weekend! The whole morning was a success.  The girls were 100% supportive of each other, cheering each other on and running together. It was a delight to see all of our girls running with a friend or family member throughout the race.  We are excited to bring Girls on the Run back to Diamond Creek next year. A few of my highlights this week involved some 3 on 2 basketball games at recess.  Mr. Carlos and I were challenged to play three 4th grade students and then three 5th grade students in basketball.  Some tough competition throughout those games, but smiles, high fives and lots of fun definitely made it a highlight for me.  You'll have to ask your students who won each game or look for it in the next student news! What's Coming Up This Week? May 15-19 Thank you to all of our families who came out for Open House and the Art Show last night. It was a great evening with music, art and smiling students! It was a joy to celebrate all of our students and teachers and their hard work this year.  Thank you to Mr. Carlos and his band for providing some great entertainment! We also had a successful spring fundraiser last weekend and raised over $13,000 for our students and teachers and Diamond Creek. A huge thank you to our Spring fundraiser committee that helped put this amazing evening together for our families. Thank you for all of your support! We are excited for the many opportunities our students will have at Diamond Creek with your help. Good Luck to our Girls on the Run team this weekend! What's Coming Up This Week? May 8-12 Thank you to all of our families who donated on our Online Silent Auction. There were some great pieces of art and fun family events! We appreciate your donations.  This week we have Open House and Art Show on Thursday, May 11th from 6:00-7:30 PM.  Our students look forward to showcasing their amazing work from the year and showing this to you.  We will have an early release on Thursday due to open house, students will be dismissed at 2:05. We had so many exciting things going on this week, Career day in 1st grade, Mother's Day teas in Kindergarten, assembly in 4th grade and more! Our students are working hard and having fun!
