Week of April 9-13

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek
Welcome back Diamond Creek families! We hope you had a wonderful Spring Break! Our students were back and hard at work this week!

As I mentioned last week, it has been fun to observe our students setting individual goals for themselves as we are learning in Habit #2 to plan ahead and set goals.  Our upper grade students had goals they had set for themselves on their most recent iReady diagnostic and are working to set some upcoming goals for their CAASPP testing.  Students in Grades 3-5 will begin CAASPP testing the week of April 16th and testing goes through May 25th.  More detailed information is listed below.

Sunday. April 8th is the last day of our Online Auction hosted by our PTC.  Click on the link below to see all of the amazing items up for bid! There are so many great activities with our teachers and even a few opportunities with me!

CAASPP Testing
The CAASPP Testing window for our 3rd through 5th grade students will be open from April 16th through May 25th.  Each classroom teacher has an individual schedule of when their students will be testing in Math and Reading. Our 5th grade students also have a Science portion of the test. This is our California State Test that allows us to measure growth and provide instruction for areas that are not being met as well.  Please make sure your child has a good, healthy breakfast and is getting lots of sleep throughout these testing days.  Sleep and proper nutrition are very helpful in allowing our students to show their best ability on these assessments.

Run For Roseville
Online registration for our annual Run4Roseville is now open! The run will take place on April 29th at 8 am at Maidu Regional Park. The Roseville City School District Foundation's annual Run4Roseville Schools is a community gathering to raise funds for our 19 elementary and middle schools. We hope you will join us for this fun-filled, annual tradition that supports music education and classroom grants for all of the RCSD Schools!
