Week of January 31-February 4

Hello Trailblazer Families,

We had a great week at Diamond Creek learning and kicking off Pennies for Patients! Each class has a site that students can help raise money that will go towards helping fight childhood cancer. We appreciate all of your support in this community fundraiser.

Villages
We had a Village Rally this past week. We reviewed and kicked off Habit #5: Listen & Learn. Our focus essential is, If someone bumps into you, say excuse me, even if it was not your fault. We also discussed and practiced listening with our whole body and what that looks like and sounds like at school, at home, and in our community. Students had the opportunity to chalk up our campus with ways they can be caring and helpful.

Our students have been practicing their Village chants and we wanted to share these with you as well! HERE are the chants if you'd like to practice at home too!

Girls on the Run - Attention ALL 3rd-5th grade girls at Diamond Creek:
We are so excited to bring back Girls on the Run to Diamond Creek this school year! Please read through the attached flyer which shares all of the important details and dates for Girls on the Run.  The season begins the week of February 28th and our Diamond Creek practices will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 at Diamond Creek. Registration begins live on February 1st through www.gotrsac.org.   There are limited spaces available, so please mark your calendars if you are interested in enrolling!

WEEKLY NEWS Hello Diamond Creek Families! We hope week #3 of Distance Learning went well for you.  Our weekly class Zoom meetings are definitely a highlight for our teachers and staff. Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year!

What's Coming Up This Week? August 21-25 Welcome to the 2017-18 school year and to our Diamond Creek school blog! This blog will be updated and included in a messenger to parents every Friday.  Please read our blog for important information and upcoming dates. Our staff have been hard at work this week preparing for an awesome first day of school for your child.  We hope you enjoyed meeting your child's teacher at TK/K orientation or at the ice cream social.  Thank you to our PTC for providing ice cream for our families.  The first two days of school were a true success! As I walked through the classrooms, students were smiling, laughing and enjoying their time with friends and their teachers.  Thank you for helping us kick off a great school year!  We hope your child felt like a rock star on the first day and was excited to come back for Day #2! Hello Trailblazer Families,  We have such exciting news to share this week!! Our AMAZING students, families and PTC worked together to raise over $44,000 for our students at Diamond Creek! WOW!! That is a new record for us at our Walk-a-Thon. We appreciate all of your support with this amazing fundraiser for our students. Thank you to our WAT chairs and PTC for helping us host this special event! We have a Village Rally coming up on Wednesday. Our students will be kicking off Habit #2: Know Before You Do.
