WEEKLY NEWS

Hello Diamond Creek Families - We had a great week of learning at Diamond Creek! As I'm walking through classrooms, students are definitely into the routine and deep into learning.

We will have our first Village Meeting this Thursday, September 5th.  Please have students wear their Village T-shirt or Village color.   We will be doing some team building activities within our Villages.  Students are working very hard on giving eye contact, responding to questions and asking others questions! They are doing an incredible job at school with these habits and we hope you are noticing them at home as well.

A reminder there is no school on Monday - enjoy the three day holiday weekend!

15th ANNUAL WALK-A-THON - SEPTEMBER 12, 2019
Our 15th Annual Walk-a-Thon will be on Thursday, September 12th from 9:30-11:30am at Diamond Creek Elementary.

We are in need of some amazing parent/family volunteers for our event, because with the fabulous volunteers, we couldn't put on this awesome fundraiser for the kids.

Please CLICK HERE for our Sign-Up Genius that has a list of all the available volunteer positions available.Your child will come home with a donation envelope this Friday from school.  On this envelope were instructions on how your child can collect donations.  The envelope itself is for collecting cash and check donations.  The instruction sheet for 99 Pledges is our online collection service for all credit card donations.  It takes only about 5 seconds to create a personal donation page for your child that is linked to the school's Fundraiser page.  Once you have it created, you can share your child's personal donation page with all your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter or by email.

Here is a link to our 99 Pledges Fundraiser page where you can add your child.

We will be keeping track of our Top 5 Classes throughout our pledge/donation time with 99 Pledges.
The class with the highest donation collection at the end of the Walk-a-Thon will win a class party.

Thank you so much parents and Diamond Creek Families!

Our students will have the opportunity to visit some of our classrooms on this day that will be transformed into a glow room, medical room, a Book Cafe and more! We will be doing lots of learning and using our environment to engage learners at high levels! More details to come - we can't wait!

WATCH D.O.G.S. Pizza Night!! - September 26th!!
CALLING ALL OF OUR FATHERS AND FATHER FIGURES! WATCH D.O.G.S. is a National school based, community engagement organization that schools all across our country participate in each year.  Our goal of WATCH D.O.G.S. at Diamond Creek is to invite our father figures (dads, grandpas, uncles, positive male role models, etc.) on to our site and support our students and safety on campus.  We will be kicking off this amazing program on Thursday, September 26th from 5-6 PM at Diamond Creek. Join us for some pizza and information about how to get involved in this great program.

Please RSVP on the Form HERE so that we can accommodate with enough pizza!

SPIRIT WEAR - RESALE
Happy back to school!  We've had great response to our shirt donation idea.  If you've noticed those spirit shirts are too small for your growing child, why not donate them back to the school?!?  This also goes for village shirts, class shirts, PTC shirts, etc.  Thank you for all that have already donated! We will be selling them on the first Thursday of each month from 3:15 (or as soon as I can get there!) until 3:45.  They will be first come first serve, with a suggested donation of $5.  Our first sale will be Thursday, September 5th.  Hope to see you there!   - Mrs. Hood
