Happy Friday Trailblazer families,

How can it already be the last week of April?  I can’t believe we are already starting to plan our end of the year events!  It’s been a great week here in Trailblazer country!  One of the highlights was the Amazing Animals experience that our First Graders participated in on Thursday thanks to our fantastic PTC!  Here are a couple cute pics!


STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK-MAY 1st-5th

Next week is Staff Appreciation Week and I’d like to take this opportunity to honor the amazing team of educators that make Diamond Creek such a special place to learn!  Each adult that walks onto this campus each day has a heart for wanting what is best for our kids and it is an honor and a privilege to work with them as their Principal.  If you have a moment it would be really special to send an email or handwritten note to one or more of our fantastic staff members:  your child’s incredible classroom teacher, our amazing Instructional Assistants-Ms. Susan, Ms. Jazmin, Ms. Beulah, Ms. Andrea, Ms. Ihsan, Ms. Rebecca, and Ms. Sanford, our Office Staff Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Pelzman, our Librarian Mrs. Wing, our Support Teachers-Mrs. Martinez our TOSA, Mrs. Underwood, our Resource Specialist, our Speech team Mrs. Wirth, Mrs. deVries, Mrs. Castillo and Ms. Kayla, Mr. Sessano our PE teacher and his IA Ms. Jordan, Mrs. Dow our Music Teacher, Ms. Alexa our School Psychologist, our OT team-Mrs. Kiley and Mrs. Diana, our wonderful Custodial crew, Mr. Peter, Mr. Andrew, and Ms. Olga, our Meal Duty Supervisor Team-Mrs. Kimura, Mrs. Bye, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Stacy, Ms. MacLane, and Mrs. Furze, our School Nurse Mrs. Wheatley, and Ms. Helzberg and Ms. Rohr in the Cafeteria.  It truly takes a Village at Diamond Creek where ALL kids our OUR kids!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS-OPEN HOUSE is TUESDAY, MAY 23rd

We are excited for Diamond Creek’s Open House, Art Show, and Book Fair on Tuesday, May 23rd from 5:30-7:00 pm.  We will have a minimum day dismissal that day at 12:57 pm.  


BOOK FAIR INFO…

Our spring Book Fair is coming!  It will be open the week of May 22-26 during lunch & after school. You will also be able to shop in the evening during Open House and the Bingo/Ice Cream Social Night.  Get some books for summer reading!

PTC NEWS

 

PTC GENERAL MEETING:  All are welcome to attend May’s PTC meeting on Tuesday, May 2 @ 7:00pm in the Diamond Creek Staff Lounge located in the School Office.  Pizza and childcare will be provided by PTC in the library.  We hope you can join us next week!

 

TEACHER/STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK:  Next week, May 1 – 5,  is the week to show our teachers and staff at Diamond Creek some love.  Room parents sent out communication this week on fun and easy ways to celebrate and honor the amazing Diamond Creek teachers and staff!   

 

FIREWORKS:  Diamond Creek has the fireworks booth again this year and last year it was our biggest fundraiser of the year. Once again we are calling ALL hands on deck to help fundraise for Diamond Creek! If you are able to volunteer, for even one shift, it will make a huge difference for our students experience at Diamond Creek. LOST and FOUND: Now that the weather is warming up, there are a lot of jackets, coats, water bottles, etc. that are waiting to return to their homes. Please stop by the front entry area to claim your items.

Welcome to the 2017-18 School Year!

What's Coming Up This Week? August 21-25 Welcome to the 2017-18 school year and to our Diamond Creek school blog! This blog will be updated and included in a messenger to parents every Friday.  Please read our blog for important information and upcoming dates. Our staff have been hard at work this week preparing for an awesome first day of school for your child.  We hope you enjoyed meeting your child's teacher at TK/K orientation or at the ice cream social.  Thank you to our PTC for providing ice cream for our families.  The first two days of school were a true success! As I walked through the classrooms, students were smiling, laughing and enjoying their time with friends and their teachers.  Thank you for helping us kick off a great school year!  We hope your child felt like a rock star on the first day and was excited to come back for Day #2! Hello Trailblazer Families,  We have such exciting news to share this week!! Our AMAZING students, families and PTC worked together to raise over $44,000 for our students at Diamond Creek! WOW!! That is a new record for us at our Walk-a-Thon. We appreciate all of your support with this amazing fundraiser for our students. Thank you to our WAT chairs and PTC for helping us host this special event! We have a Village Rally coming up on Wednesday. Our students will be kicking off Habit #2: Know Before You Do. Students are encouraged to wear their Village T-shirt or color!
