WEEKLY NEWS

Thank you to all of our volunteers and committee members who helped our Fall Festival be a HUGE success for our families last week.  Our students had a blast and we hope you did too! This is our largest community event of the school year! Thank you for all of your help and planning.

We kicked off Breakfast & Books this week with our 2nd and 3rd grade students. This is a morning book club that is offered to our students to come enjoy some breakfast and discussion around a good book! This time our book club is reading The Tiger Rising.  We will have a 4th and 5th grade Breakfast & Book Club coming soon! Stay tuned!!

On Wednesday, we had a Village Meeting. During our Meeting time we discussed Habit #1: I'm in Charge of Me. During this time all of our Villages discussed ways we can be in charge of our own behaviors and what this looks like in our cafeteria, playground, classrooms, bathrooms, library and outside of school! Make sure to ask your child about what it means to be in charge of themselves at home and in our community!  Our students have also been working very hard on our Essential for the month, "Be Responsible for Your Trash". Hopefully you are noticing more garbage and trash pick up at home as well.  Thank you for all of your support at home as well as we encourage our students to live by these important Habits and Essentials.

Our 2nd through 5th grade students will continue taking the iReady diagnostic for the 2nd time this year anytime from now through October 31st. This is a diagnostic assessment that allows us to measure progress in ELA and Math for each student and plan intervention and instruction which is appropriate to each student's individual needs.
