WEEKLY NEWS

It was another great week at Diamond Creek! We have students in all grade levels creating writing journals and taking off with their writing.  It's exciting to walk through classrooms and observe our students writing about their interests and passions!

We had our 2nd September Village Meeting on Wednesday.  Our focus continued to be on "Eyeballs & Handshakes" Our students are working on greeting and speaking with students and staff using eye contact.  We also practiced our Diamond Creek chant and our Village chants.  Our students will definitely be ready to share their chants at our Village Rally on October 3rd.  Our 4th and 5th grade students have been amazing leaders and big buddies to our Kindergarten and 1st grade students.

This year at Diamond Creek instead of having a Student Council with elected members, we have formed a variety of leadership teams across the school. We have equipment leaders, lunch helpers, social media interns, Student News anchors, and more!  If you follow us on Twitter and notice a tweet that reads, STUDENT TWEET, this is a tweet that was completed by our Social Media Student Interns.

Our W.A.T.C.H. DOG Pizza Night Kick Off Event is coming up this Thursday, September 27th from 5:00-6:00. Please RVSP on the link listed below.

GIRLS ON THE RUN
We will be hosting another Girls on the Run team this year at Diamond Creek.  Practices start in February and registration is in January, but we are looking for one more coach to help with our team.  Girls on the Run is open to our girls in 3rd through 5th grade and is a program that's designed to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.  Practices are two days a week after school for 90 minutes.

Please click HERE if you'd like to apply to coach this program!
