Week of September 4-8

Updates from our week at Diamond Creek
This week I enjoyed walking through classrooms, seeing familiar faces in new classes and getting to know our new students to Diamond Creek.  It's exciting to see our students diving into good books and beginning 40 book challenges for the year! I can't wait to see how many books they end up reading.  I also spent time reading to all of our classrooms. This allows me time to share my love of reading and share some of my favorite books.  Thank you for sharing your children with us!

W.A.T.C.H. Dogs
We are excited to bring W.A.T.C.H. Dogs to Diamond Creek this school year! W.A.T.C.H. Dogs is a school based program that works to get fathers involved in our schools to help support education and school safety.  We are looking for any fathers who are interested in helping lead this group by being one of our "Top Dogs".  We would love to have a group of five to six dads help kick this program off for us by helping with our Pizza Night kick of on Tuesday, September 26th at 6:00 PM.  Please email Mrs. Garcia if you are interested in hearing more about being a Top Dog!

Girls on the Run
Not a runner? No problem! Girls on the Run is about so much more than running. Each season, coaches teach girls about friendships, standing up for themselves and others, giving back to their communities, and more! Learn how you can coach for Girls on the Run at Diamond Creek Elementary: www.gotrsac.org/coach or email Mrs. Garcia. We are looking for one more coach for our 2017-18 Girls on the Run season.
